Hi,

I want to share a piece that feels like the kind of thought that creeps in late at night the kind you’d never post on Instagram, but still carries too much weight to leave unsaid.

Poem:

I wonder if we’ll ever talk again.

I wonder if you deleted my number,

or if it still sits there

a name you’ll never tap.

I wonder if you ever think of me

the way I still think of you.

If certain songs still sting.

If certain places still remind you me.

I’m dying to know what’s going on in your life.

If you’re happy.

If you’ve found the peace I couldn’t give.

But I won’t ask.

Because we’re strangers now

strangers who share memories,

like ghosts haunting the same past.

Once, you knew me better than anyone.

Now, we pass each other ignoring the memories,

as if none of it ever happened.

And that’s the cruelest part of love

how someone can be your whole world,

and then, just a name you’ll never say out loud again.

Sometimes I think the hardest part of love isn’t losing someone it’s learning how to carry the version of them that still lives inside you, even after they’re gone.

I’d love to know what’s the one memory of someone you’ve never forgotten, even if they’re no longer in your life?

Talk soon,
